Framed in a warm cowboy shot angled slightly upward, a young boy with short, neatly swept brown bangs and warm brown eyes stands amidst the golden glow of a rustic bakery. He wears a full baker's uniform: an oversized, puffy white baker's cap sitting squarely atop his brown hair, a crisp white long-sleeved collared shirt tied at the throat with a neat neckerchief, and a frilled waist apron cinched tightly over a flared brown pleated skirt, with opaque black thighhighs hugging his legs. Shifting his weight onto his left leg, he leans slightly forward, balancing a woven wicker basket filled with crusty baguettes and golden pastries against his hip with his left forearm. His right hand lifts self-consciously to touch the brim of the puffy hat, fingers lightly pinching the starched fabric. A distinct pink blush warms his cheeks and the bridge of his nose as he meets the viewer's gaze with a shy, sheepish smile. Behind him, dark timber shelves are laden with round loaves and woven cooling trays. Warm morning sunlight cuts across the room from an unseen window to the left, illuminating drifting flour dust motes suspended in the air and casting bright rim light along the edge of his white cap and the folds of his apron. A faint wisp of rising steam curls from the freshly baked bread in his basket, dissipating into the amber air. Playfully bashful.
