no humans, 1cat, calico cat, sleeping, curled up, closed eyes, inside pot, donabe, cooking pot, on table, kotatsu, futon, traditional japanese house, tatami, shoji, engawa, sliding doors, mikan, sunny, clear sky, winter, new year, high angle, from above, sunlight, sunbeam, light rays, cast shadow, warm lighting, serene, masterpiece High angle view looking down onto the center of a traditional sunlit tatami room. Resting securely on the polished wooden tabletop of a kotatsu draped with a deep indigo quilted futon is a rounded earthenware donabe pot with small loop handles. Tightly curled inside the curve of the ceramic bowl is a plump calico cat, fast asleep in an uninterrupted circle of plush winter fur. The cat's eyes are softly shut, its pink nose tucked close to its flank, and its dark-tipped tail curls over neatly tucked paws as its body gently fills the pot to the rim. Beside the donabe, two bright orange mikan mandarins rest on the wood. The room opens wide across an engawa veranda through slid-back shoji screens, looking out into a tidy courtyard garden under an immaculate, pale blue winter sky, with a small traditional New Year pine arrangement visible by the cedar post. Crisp, low-angled morning sunlight cuts through the open doorway, casting a sharp geometric beam across the woven straw tatami mats and striking the rim of the pot. Where the direct sunbeam hits the cat's sleeping form, individual fine whiskers and translucent guard hairs glow with brilliant golden rim light, highlighting microscopic dust motes suspended in the quiet, heated air rising above the kotatsu. The palette balances the warm amber of natural wood, straw tatami, and calico fur against the crisp, cold azure of the clear New Year sky. Peaceful warmth.
