This time, the ten of them had taken on a brand-new Ghost Month project—Hyakki Yagyō, the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. But this was not simply a costume event. They would each transform into a different supernatural creature and join the annual night parade, traveling through the old streets beneath the moonlit sky. Before the parade began, the ten gradually gathered at the meeting point. Each of them had taken on a unique yokai form. Gakupo became an imposing oni-like demon, his long purple hair drifting gently in the night breeze. Luka transformed into a mysterious and beautiful fox spirit, her gentle expression contrasting with the darkness around her. And some would allow the ten yokai forms to blend perfectly with their surroundings. The night continued to deepen. The Hyakki Yagyō continued onward. Lanterns, mist, supernatural silhouettes, and moonlight intertwined beneath the night sky. Każde z nich miało wcielić się w inną nadprzyrodzoną istotę i dołączyć do corocznej nocnej parady, przemierzając stare ulice pod nocnym niebem. Przed rozpoczęciem parady cała dziesiątka stopniowo zebrała się w miejscu zbiórki. Każdy przyjął wyjątkową formę yokai. Gakupo przemienił się w budzącego respekt demona oni, a jego długie fioletowe włosy delikatnie poruszały się na nocnym wietrze. Luka stała się tajemniczą i piękną lisicą-duchem, której łagodny wyraz twarzy kontrastował z otaczającą ją ciemnością. Miku przybrała fantastyczną postać dziewczyny-yokai, a jej zielona sylwetka wyraźnie wyróżniała się w świetle lampionów. MEIKO miała w sobie dojrzały i tajemniczy urok, a jej sylwetka doskonale komponowała się z nocną atmosferą. Mio i みお przemieniły się w dwa różne rodzaje kocich duchów. Jedna była figlarna i pełna energii, druga zaś łagodna i tajemnicza. Razem ich sylwetki wyróżniały się pośród parady. Len i Rin dołączyli do pochodu jako dwa zupełnie różne rodzaje yokai. Czasami szli obok siebie, a chwilę później naturalnie rozdzielali się zgodnie z rytmem całej procesji. Teto emanowała własną, wyjątkową i pełną energii aurą nadprzyrodzonej istoty, dodając odrobinę figlarności do pozornie mrocznej parady. Gdy wszyscy byli już gotowi, z oddali dobiegł niski dźwięk bębna. Bum— Pierwsze uderzenie sprawiło, że cała ulica na moment jakby zamarła. Potem rozległo się drugie. Jeden po drugim lampiony zaczęły rozświetlać dalszy koniec ulicy. Hyakki Yagyō właśnie się rozpoczęło. Dziesiątka ruszyła powoli wraz z całym pochodem. Po obu stronach ulicy stały stare drewniane budynki. Pod ich dachami wisiały papierowe lampiony, a cienka mgła przesuwała się w nocnym powietrzu. Gdzieś w oddali od czasu do czasu rozbrzmiewała nieznana melodia. Sylwetki niezliczonych yokai przesuwały się pomiędzy światłami lampionów. Niektóre poruszały się powoli, inne delikatnie kołysały, jeszcze inne przyjmowały tajemnicze pozy lub wchodziły w interakcje z innymi uczestnikami pochodu. Dziesiątka stopniowo wtapiała się w paradę. Gakupo przemierzał noc, a jego długie fioletowe włosy unosiły się na wietrze. Po drugiej stronie tłumu Luka odwróciła głowę, a ich spojrzenia na krótką chwilę spotkały się pomiędzy przesuwającymi się sylwetkami. Miku i KAITO podążali dalej wraz z pochodem, a światło lampionów delikatnie odbijało się od ich sylwetek. Rin i Len od czasu do czasu wymieniali spojrzenia, po czym ponownie dostosowywali się do rytmu parady. Mio i みお szły razem. Ich kocie sylwetki pojawiały się i znikały we mgle, co chwilę wywołując zaskoczenie i zachwycone śmiechy wśród widzów stojących przy ulicy. Teto energicznie poruszała się wśród tłumu, nadając całemu pochodowi jeszcze więcej życia. MEIKO szła spokojnie z tyłu, jej sylwetka zlewała się z nocną ciemnością i od czasu do czasu była rozświetlana czerwonym blaskiem lampionów. Hyakki Yagyō przemierzało kolejne stare ulice. Ale to był dopiero pierwszy przystanek tej nocy. Po zakończeniu parady ulicznej cała dziesiątka miała udać się do wielu innych specjalnie przygotowanych miejsc. Opuszczonego sanktuarium, bambusowego lasu skąpanego w świetle księżyca, starego mostu spowitego mgłą, opuszczonej tradycyjnej japońskiej rezydencji oraz tajemniczego ogrodu otwieranego dopiero późną nocą… Każde z tych miejsc miało stać się kolejnym rozdziałem Hyakki Yagyō. Niektóre będą jeszcze bardziej mroczne i niepokojące. Inne wypełni niemal baśniowa, nadprzyrodzona atmosfera. A niektóre pozwolą dziesięciu yokai idealnie wtopić się w otaczającą scenerię. Noc stawała się coraz głębsza. Hyakki Yagyō nieustannie posuwało się naprzód. Lampiony, mgła, nadprzyrodzone sylwetki i światło księżyca splatały się ze sobą pod nocnym niebem. A ta nocna parada Miesiąca Duchów dopiero się zaczynała.
