Amaterasu from Ōkami: Bound by Ropes

Seeing Amaterasu in this vulnerable state really strikes a chord with me; the way the sunlight catches her white fur even while she's tied up is both beautiful and heartbreaking. I've always admired the unique artistic style of Ōkami, and it's amazing to see it brought to life in such a detailed scene. If you enjoy this piece, please give it a like and follow for more content!

character: amaterasu_(ookami) close-up, 1 animal, white wolf, large white wolf, red body markings, red facial markings on forehead and cheeks, orange eyes, wolf ears, long white fur, furred tail, laying on side, on ground, bound, rope around muzzle, muzzle tied shut, front paws tied together, hind legs tied together, back paws bound with rope, tranquilizer dart embedded in rump, dart sticking out of hip, feather-fletched dart, carried on shoulders, villagers carrying her, raised on many shoulders, moving toward hut, 16th century japanese village, sengoku era village square, thatched-roof hut, wooden village buildings, packed earth ground, rope, rough hemp cord, half-closed eyes, drugged, dazed, heavy eyelids, squint, powerless, looking to the side, from below, dutch angle, foreshortening, dramatic perspective, crowd carrying, day, overcast daylight, motion, dust, looming crowd, low-angle view, Seen from a low angle tilted slightly off level, the white wolf fills the foreground, lying on her side and lifted clear of the packed-earth square on a raft of shoulders. Her whole flank runs diagonally across the frame, near shoulder low at the lower left, hindquarters raised toward the upper right, one hind leg drawn up under the rope that lashes both back paws together. Coarse hemp cord crosses her muzzle in a tight double wrap, pressing the fur flat and dimpling the skin; the same cord binds her front paws into one bundle tucked against her chest, and her hind paws into a second. High on her rump, a tranquilizer dart stands out of the fur, its dark needle buried, its fletched tail canted back over her hip and catching the light. Her orange eyes are half lidded and unfocused, gazing off past the camera to the left, one ear slack, the other still pricked; her fur clumps where the ropes compress it and her tail hangs limp over the arms of the men supporting her. Beneath and around her, the villagers are seen mostly as cropped shoulders, forearms and the tops of heads, hands braced flat under her ribs and haunches, sleeves rolled, a woven shoulder cloth bunching where her weight settles; several heads tip up toward her as they walk. Behind them the square recedes in foreshortened recession: packed earth, low timber-and-plaster walls, a well curb, stacked firewood, and a thatched-roof hut at the end of the lane toward which the whole group is moving. Overcast daylight comes from high and behind the crowd, so her white fur reads brightest along the top edge of her back and shoulder while the underside of her flank and the villagers' faces fall into cool shadow; dust hangs in the air where their feet scuff the ground and settles on the exposed surfaces of the fur and their sleeves. Palette held to white and grey fur, the vivid red of her markings, undyed hemp and earthen browns, with no other saturated accent. Tense, hushed.
