two girls, dream bubble, crossover, Hotaru Tomoe, short black hair, purple eyes, purple sailor collar, white gloves, red bow, heart brooch, choker, purple skirt, Cinderella of the Cat Food Kingdom, blonde hair, blue hairband, blue bow, hair bun, blue eyes, blue dress, puffy short sleeves, glass slippers, cat ears, cat tail, from above, close-up on inner dream, sleeping face in foreground, leaning forward, looking down, reaching out, open mouth, wide-eyed, sparkle, fish-shaped carriage, cat food cans, cat castle, tiled dream-mist border
Seen from above: in the near foreground, along the bottom edge of the frame, Hotaru Tomoe lies asleep on her side, head tilted back on a pillow, short black hair fanned and flattened against the pillowcase, her sleeping face turned three-quarters toward the lens with both eyes closed and lashes still, lips slightly parted on a slow breath, chest rising under a white blanket pulled to her collarbone. Rising from her temple, a single large thought bubble swells to fill the upper three-quarters of the composition, its border scalloped like crockery tiles and tinted the faint lavender-pink of dawn. Inside it, the whole dream: the Cat Food Kingdom at daybreak, a terraced town whose low roofs are ridged like the lids of cat-food cans and whose chimneys are stacked fish tins; in the middle a palace of salmon-pink turrets with a giant circular can lid as its gate, fine dry kibble drifting down over the courtyards like slow snow and settling only on the upward-facing ledges — can rims, roof ridges, the flat palms of statues — never on the undersides, which stay bare. Along a curving road of golden gravy, a fish-shaped carriage made from a hollowed silver can rolls toward the palace with a puff of parsley-green smoke at its spout; a row of small cats in tiny livery trots at the harness, tails up, ears perked.
Center of the bubble, at its front, the Cinderella of the Cat Food Kingdom steps down from the carriage's open lid: blonde hair swept into a bun, a blue hairband with a blue bow set above it, blue eyes sparkling wide, a sky-blue dress with puffy short sleeves billowing out as she turns, one glass slipper just touching down on the paving while the other leg is still lifted on the step; she holds one hand up to the light, the other out toward the palace gate, her cat ears tipped forward and her long tail curled high behind the hem like a question mark drawn in the air. The bubble's inner light comes from a low dawn sun at the left of the dream, striking the Kami of her hair, the glass of the slippers, and the can-lid gate — long soft shadows stream to the right across the kibble dust, and the girl's shadow falls across the carriage wheels. Outside the bubble, the room is darker: a single warm point of lamplight from the lower right catching only the rim of Hotaru's ear, the top of her blanket, and the bubble's glowing skin, which lays a faint lavender light upward onto her forehead.
Palette split deliberately in two: lavender, cream and pale pink in the real room below; saturated sky blue, salmon pink, silver, gold gravy and parsley green inside the dream. Soft painted shading, clean linework, no incidental lettering anywhere; a tiny heart-shaped can label on the kibble tin in the far courtyard remains unreadable. Warm, tender, faintly fairy-tale.
