Galuri paused for a moment, her lips curving into a faint smile, as if she were both thinking and simply savoring the comfort of leaning close. “Maybe to the mountains,” she whispered. “I heard the cherry blossoms are about to bloom.” Ruizuki listened, and in his mind appeared the image of her smiling amidst a sea of blossoms. The night breeze brushed past them, painting the thought with a romantic hue. He looked at her, silently promising himself: wherever tomorrow takes them, he will be by her side. The distant lights flickered, and stars began to appear in the sky. Ruizuki recalled the laughter from their boat ride earlier, the joy when she touched the water’s surface.
