2girls, sitting, Captain Caveman sitting on Taffy Dare's lap, couch, living room couch, green v-neck sleeveless dress, high collar, gold pendant necklace, pendant, high-heel shoes, beige pantyhose, long blonde hair, feathered volume 1970s Farrah Fawcett hairstyle, fair skin, black eyes, thin black eyebrows, red lipstick, short pear-shaped oval body, thick tan-brown body hair, large bulbous Neanderthal-like nose, cat-like whiskers on cheeks, brown eyes, orange-and-black spotted loincloth, small cape tied around neck, fair skin only on face hands and feet, from side, cowboy shot, looking at another, light smile, head tilt, arms up, ^ ^, open mouth, blush, The camera sits low and to the side at hip height, in a three-quarter side view across the couch, so the two figures are stacked in silhouette against the room behind them. Taffy Dare sits first, deep in the corner of a wide, tufted mid-century couch in warm mustard-brown upholstery; her weight is sunk back into the cushions with one hip angled forward, her back against the arm of the couch, and the cushion beneath her compresses in a shallow dent where she sits. Her long blonde hair falls in feathered wide layers swept back off her forehead and flicked outward at the tips, the ends brushing the collar of her dress, and where she leans back the hair fans flat against the upholstery behind her shoulder. She wears the green sleeveless dress — a rich forest-green jersey, cut with a high closed collar that stands snug at her throat and an unbroken V opening below it, no sleeves, the bare shoulders and arms coming out of the armholes — the fabric pulled taut across her thigh as she braces. A gold pendant, a small round medallion, hangs from a fine gold chain into the V of the neckline, and it has swung outward from her chest and hangs at a slight angle above the fold of her lap, catching a hard point of light. Her legs are drawn together and angled down the length of the couch seat, beige pantyhose sheathing them in a smooth matte sheen that glints faintly along the shin, and the matching green high-heeled shoes are planted together heel-down at the far end of the cushion, one ankle crossed slightly over the other. Captain Caveman is perched on her lap: a short oval pear of a man, sitting crossways over her thighs just above the knees, his weight settling down and back into her, so that the cushion under Taffy depresses a second, deeper pocket beneath his seat and her left arm comes around behind his back to brace him at the waist above the cape's tie. Almost all of him is fur — a dense, thick, tan-brown pelt that roughens into a coarse nap and shows the direction of growth down his back and along his arms — fading to bare fair skin only on his wide face, his hands and his two dangling bare feet. His heavy bulbous Neanderthal nose sits on his face like a wedge, squashed wide across the middle with two dark nostrils; the cat-like whiskers lie flat along both cheeks, tufts of reddish hair pointing outward, and his brown eyes are round under a low brow. He wears the loincloth — a wrap of orange cloth scattered with irregular black spots — knotted at the hip, and the same spotted fabric rises from the knot into a small cape hung around his neck and falling short between his shoulders, lying bunched and flattened where Taffy's forearm passes behind him. His legs dangle over her thigh and his bare heels hover just above the couch cushion, and one of his thick-furred hands rests flat on the green fabric at her knee. His head is turned toward her, tilted up and back, brown eyes rolled up to catch her face, whiskered mouth open in a wide grin; she looks down at him sideways under lowered lids, smiling with red-painted lips parted, and her thin black eyebrow arches at whatever he has just said. The key light comes from a single warm table lamp behind and left of the couch, low and orange, so it rims the feathered edge of her blonde hair in a hot outline and throws the back of his fur into darkness while the lit side of his face, hands and feet glow pale and warm; the lamp is the only light source, and beyond its pool the room falls off into a soft, absolute brown gloom. Palette: forest green, gold, warm mustard-brown sofa, tan-brown fur, orange-spotted cloth, with her blonde hair and red lips as the only cool-bright notes. Quiet, easy domestic warmth.
