character: flandre_scarlet, artist: kuroboshi_kouhaku, tsunako, copyright: touhou 1girl, touhou, flandre_scarlet, solo, fetal position, curled up tight, knees drawn to chest, arms wrapped around shins, head out of frame, head cropped above the mouth, eyes outside frame, mouth visible, looking at viewer, chin tilted up toward lens, colorful wings, crystalline rainbow-hued wing crystals, multicolored faceted crystal wings, blonde hair, long hair, side ponytail, red eyes, mob cap, hat, bow, puffy short sleeves, frills, skirt, vest, ascot, darkness, dark void background, near-black surroundings, from above, foreshortening, close-up, dramatic rim lighting, particle accents, muted pastel palette with vibrant accents, soft cel-shading, delicate clean linework, soft diffused light, atmospheric haze, whimsical, quietly unsettling The camera looks down from just above a girl curled into a fetal position on a surface of nothing at all — the shot is cropped hard at the mouth, so her chin, lips and jaw fill the top edge of the frame while her eyes sit outside the image entirely; only the bridge of her nose and the faint upward tilt of her chin tell the viewer her face is angled up toward the lens, a cool wide-eyed gaze pointed straight at whoever is looking down. Her body is folded as tightly as a fist: spine rounded, both knees tucked up under her chin and pressed together, both arms wrapped around her shins with her fingers laced over her own kneecaps, hips and heels close, the whole weight sunk onto her right hip and thigh so her left shoulder lifts higher and the pleated skirt rumples in a fan beneath her. Blonde hair, gathered into a long side ponytail, spills down off the curve of her back and pools in loose strands across the invisible ground, the ribbon of the ponytail crushed flat where her shoulder presses it; the mob cap sits low against the crown, mostly cropped away with the rest of her head, only its brim and a sliver of the bow riding the very top edge. Behind and above her, the prismatic crystal wings fan out in clustered shards of rainbow — pink, cyan, gold and violet glowing at the facets — some spread wide into the dark, some folded close enough to overlap her shoulder, each crystal catching a thin bright edge of light along the faces that point up. She is floating in darkness: the surroundings are near-black, a deep void with no floor line and no horizon, and the only light source is a soft cool glow from high above and slightly behind her, so it rims her shoulders, the tops of her knees and the upward faces of the wing crystals while the undersides of her arms, the hollow of her tucked body and everything beyond her fall into absolute black, and a faint colored bloom from the wings dusts the darkness just around their tips. Muted, dusty pastel tones over a desaturated base, with the wings and the ribbon carrying every saturated accent; tiny drifting particles of light hang in the haze above her like dust caught in the glow. Delicate clean linework, soft cel-shading, matte watercolor-like washes and a subtle grain, luminous gradient in her red eyes though only their lower lids and lashes stay in frame. Quiet, dreamlike dread.
