Athrun & Cagalli: Beachside Truce

I've always been captivated by the complex dynamic between Athrun and Cagalli in Gundam SEED, and this serene beach setting perfectly captures a rare moment of peace for them. The sight of them resting by the ocean in their pilot suits really tugs at my heartstrings. If you love this pair as much as I do, please give it a like and follow for more art!

character: athrun_zala, cagalli_yula_athha, copyright: gundam, gundam_seed, gundam_seed_freedom 2girls, 1boy, athrun zala, cagalli yula athha, short hair, blonde hair, blue hair, green eyes, yellow eyes, closed eyes, smile, gloves, military uniform, mecha pilot suit, pants, long sleeves, jacket, boots, unworn headwear, heads completely bare, nothing on the head, holding, looking through supplies, backpack, duffel bag, gear spread on sand, lying, on back, bound, rope, wrists tied together tightly behind back, ankles tied together, rope around ankles, outdoors, day, beach, sand, ocean, blue sky, wide shot, from side, slight from above, beach horizon, gundam seed, parody, seductive_smile? no, gentle smile, closed eyes, relaxed shoulders, sand grains stuck to skin, sunlight, hard shadows, peaceful, warm, nautical. Wide shot, camera low and to one side so both figures share the frame: in the midground, Athrun Zala crouches on the beach with his blue head bare, short blue hair ruffled by the sea breeze, green eyes closed in a soft, focused smile as he reaches into an open duffel bag half-buried in the sand. His gloved hands are the point of contact -- left hand holding the bag's flap open, right hand reaching past the lip of the bag, fingers curled around a rolled bundle of green canvas gear. The wind tugs at the collar of his navy pilot suit, and the reinforced padding at his shoulders and knees catches the light. Behind him, a few paces back on the packed sand, Cagalli Yula Athha lies on her side, blonde hair short and tousled, yellow eyes closed, a small smile at her lips. Her shoulders are drawn back, her wrists tied tightly together behind her back with coarse rope that bites into the fabric of her jacket; her ankles are bound with the same rope. She is turned toward Athrun, face half-lit by the sun. Sand clings to the side of her cheek, to her sleeve and her dark pants. The ocean fills the background beyond them, a band of deep blue meeting a cloud-streaked blue sky at the horizon; the sand in the foreground is pale and dry, dotted with the scattered contents of Athrun's supplies -- a coil of rope, a folded tarp, a canteen. The sun sits high and bright, casting short, hard shadows under both figures and picking out the damp sheen on the sand where the tide has pulled back. The palette is bleached sand, ocean blue and navy uniform, warm skin, and the blonde of Cagalli's hair as the one bright note. Bright, quiet, sunlit.
