Her weight is shifted heavily onto one leg, with her right forearm bracing firmly against her knee to keep her upright. She is breathing heavily, her chest heaving, while her expression is a mixture of pain and pride, marked by a lopsided half-smile that reveals a single small fang. Her long purple hair, shot through with black streaks, is disheveled and clings to her face; her horns protrude through the mess, and her pointed ears droop slightly from fatigue. She wears a purple kimono that has been ravaged by combat, featuring wide, ragged holes slashed through the chest and the wide sleeves, with loose fabric strips hanging from the tears. One sleeve has fallen completely off her shoulder, exposing skin smudged with black soot, grey battle dirt, and thin red scratches. The scene is set in a dark, ruined traditional Japanese courtyard; glowing orange embers scatter across the ground and thick curls of smoke drift through the air. The only illumination comes from the warm, dying orange glow of a nearby lantern, casting deep, oppressive shadows and highlighting the glossy texture of the illustration. Bitterly triumphant.
