Theatrum Mundi: All the world's a stage

Here's a lighthearted metafictional version of that idea: The curtain rises. Instead of a battlefield, the stage is an old theater. Every character is dressed like an actor preparing for opening night. Avdol quietly opens a leather-bound script. He adjusts his glasses. **Avdol:** "...Excuse me." Everyone stops. **Avdol:** "It says here..." *(He flips a few pages.)* **Avdol:** "...I die at Dio's mansion?" A voice echoes from somewhere above the stage. **Araki:** "Yes." Avdol stares into the distance for a long moment. He closes the script with a sigh. **Avdol:** "I see." Another pause. **Avdol:** "One question." **Araki:** "Go ahead." **Avdol:** "When I leave *JoJo*..." "...can I have a vacation?" Silence. Then the pages of the script shuffle by themselves. **Araki:** "...You've earned one." Avdol smiles. **Avdol:** "Excellent." He places the script under his arm. **Avdol:** "Well... if I'm going to perform a tragedy, I'd at least like a good curtain call." From backstage, **Joseph** pokes his head out. **Joseph:** "Wait, we get vacations after our parts end?" **Polnareff:** "Nobody told me there was a union!" Even **Dio** walks onto the stage, no longer menacing, still in costume. **Dio:** "Hold on... are *we* all actors?" The stage manager rings a bell. "Five minutes until Act Three!" Everyone groans in unison. Avdol looks at the audience, smiles knowingly, and straightens his cape. **Avdol:** "Very well." He raises one finger. "But after this play..." "...I'm taking the longest vacation imaginable." The curtain falls before anyone can ask what he means. It's a playful take because it treats the story like a stage play: everyone knows they're actors following a script, and Avdol's main concern isn't escaping the plot—it's whether he finally gets some time off once his role is over.
